Silybum marianum
A spiny flowering plant whose seeds are used for a compound called silymarin. Pet owners reach for it around liver support and gentle detox, often during or after a course of medication. It has a long history of traditional use for the liver and is typically given as a standardized seed extract. Because it's usually used in short supportive courses, many owners work with a vet on timing and dose.
